A man Ogunmola Olabode was kidnapped while his Nephew Alabi Shonola during struggle with the hoodlums, was shot and killed in is house no 15, Fatogun Street, Erin-ijebu in Ogun State. This was reported to have happened on Thursday 5th November, 2020 at around 4pm in the evening.
According to our investigations, the hoodlums attacked Mr Ogunmola Olabode and kidnapped him when they couldn’t get hold of his son in-law Ogunneye Adeniyi Abdulfatai, wife or any of his children. In reacting to the incident the Police Spokesman Ogodo A, affirmed and told our sources that thorough investigations are ongoing and they have reasons to believe the attack was related to the death of one Ahaji Olawale Adamu a businessman in 2017.
Our sources also throw more light that the attack was connected to the toll gate revenue point fracas between some top political figures in the state. The hunted Ogunneye Adeniyi Abdulfatai, a top PDP chieftain was alleged to have disagreed with the toll point revenue collection policies, claiming that it is porous and give rooms to fraud and embezzlement. We also gathered that the hunted and his immediate family are still on the run.
Meanwhile, the body of Shonola Alabi has been deposited at the state morgue while investigations are ongoing to bring the hoodlums to book and secure the release of the kidnapped Olabode Ogunmola.
