OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT SUCCESSFULLY LINKS 1,165 RICE ANCHOR BORROWERS PROGRAMME (ABP) BENEFICIARIES TO INPUTS AS HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN FLAGS OFF 2020 WET SEASON RICE PRODUCTION IN OGUN STATE


Ogun State Government successfully linked 1,165 Rice Value Chain beneficiaries to inputs, during the official flag off of the 2020 Wet Season Rice Production and Inputs Distribution under the Ogun State/Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN)/Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Anchor Borrowers Programme, by His Excellency, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, MFR today, Wednesday, 15th July, 2020, at the State Agro Services Corporation in Ijebu-Ode.
His Excellency, ably represented by the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina flagged off distribution of Knapsack Sprayers, Water Pumps, NPK fertilizer (20-10-10), and Post Emergence Herbicide (Tackle) to the Rice value chain beneficiaries, who had been drawn from those that had earlier registered for this opportunity with the Government of Ogun State and successfully screened by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Participants were implored to take full advantage of the supplementary assistance provided by Ogun State Government, and also abide by the terms of engagement of the linkage programme so that other participants yet to be linked, can learn from their good performance. It was further noted that similar exercises are ongoing for Maize and Cotton value chains, while the State Government is facilitating arrangements on Aquaculture, Cocoa and Cattle Value Chains in the Anchor Borrowers Programme.

Other dignitaries present at the event included the Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, and Officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN).
