Breaking: Adebutu Supporters Dump PDP For AA | Politics | Amebo Newspaper

Strong indication emerged on Wednesday that some members of Ogun state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to former House of Representatives member representing Ikenne/Remo North Federal constituency, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu may have dumped the Party for Action Alliance.

According to an inside source, the party recently elected officers for all elective positions in the State, twenty local government areas and all the 236 wards in Ogun State.

The Officers who are staunch loyalists of Honourable Adebutu have been mobilising for members throughout the state in order to make the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) less attractive in the next elections.

In the middle is (Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu) with the National Chairman of AA, Hon. Rufai Omoaje, to the left is the National Deputy Secretary, Princess Deborah Badejo and to the right is the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Olu Omotosho at the presentation of letter of authentication as the Ogun State Chairman of Action Alliance.

It was also gathered that the Party which is considered as alternative to PDP may field candidates for all the elective positions in the yet to be announced local government elections in Ogun state.

Among the party executives who are loyal to Hon Adebutu are State secretary Hon. Kola Oluomo, State Publicity Secretary, Waliu Oladipupo, State Women Leader, Bose Enitan and Executive members in some local government.

When contacted, the media aide to Hon. Ladi Adebutu, Mr. Afolabi Orekoya dismissed the claim, saying the story was far from the truth.

Orekoya maintained that, Hon. Adebutu remains a PDP member and his supporters are intact.

He noted that, Hon. Adebutu remains a staunch member of PDP who is ready to salvage the party from the hands of oppressors.

"The report cannot be true. Hon. Ladi remains a PDP member, being a staunch member and leader, he cannot dump his house for a makeshift political party.

"For your information, the LADO group is intact and just recently, to show commitment to members of our party, we empowered members with 100 brand new motorcycles and 100  vehicles in the state complementing the over N100m palliatives during the lockdown; so the news of dumping the party for unpopular party is untrue.  Please ignore it."

Also speaking, Hon Waliu Oladipupo denied ever belonging to another political party but PDP.

He said the information that the group is considering another option but PDP is an handiwork of mischief makers, adding that all his political sojourn had been PDP.

"The information is wrong, let me tell you, I belong to PDP, I was the publicity Secretary of PDP at one time, and in spite of what you said is happening to the party in the state, we will remain there and sort it out among ourselves.

"That PDP is having issue is not peculiar to the Party, see what is happening to APC today in Edo and other states, so the information of going to other Party is wrong and I can tell you that authoritatively we are in PDP, and we are committed to the Party.
