Youths Deny Receiving 100,000 Palliative Package From Ogun State Govt.

Youth in Community Development Council in Ogun state has denied collecting 100,000 relief package from the state government.

The state government had earlier this week announced that, it has gave over 100,000 youths in the state palliative material to cushion the effect of the lockdown by the federal government.

But the youths under the umbrella of Youth in Community Development Council challenged the state governor, Dapo Abiodun and his Special Assistant on youth, Lamide Lawal to present beneficiaries of the 100,000 palliative reportedly distributed by the government to the youths.

The body which comprises of  10,000 community development associations  insisted that none of their members received any palliative as claimed by the aide to the governor.

They said this in a statement which was jointly signed by the Ogun Central Senatorial CDC Youth Rep; Tijani Kazeem, Ogun East Senatorial CDC Youth Rep; Adewale Kuojo, Ogun West Senatorial CDC Youth Rep; Ogunseye and the state Youth convener, Usman  Olamilekan.

The youths noted that, investigation embarked upon by the group proved the government's untrue.

They urged the governor to investigate the issued raised before releasing another batch of the 20,000 palliatives he promised the Youths across the 20 Local Government in the state.

The statement reads, "the attention of the leadership of Ogun State Youth in Community Development Council has been drawn to the statement credited to Special Assistant to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR the executive governor of Ogun State, Mr. Lamide Lawal that about 100,000 youths in the state have  been given relief package occasioned by the lockdown in the state.

"We are surprised by this development as investigation by this body through over 10,000 community development associations making ogun state give an opposite of this.

"We commend the good effort  of our governor His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun mfr as a through leader on the general well being of the people of the state but timely inform him that non of this good efforts is getting to the grassroots.

"We call on His Excellency and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youths, Comrade Lamide Lawal to investigate the matter before releasing another batch of the 20,000 palliatives he promised the Youths across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.

"The Youths in Community is community based youths in the CDA’s/ CDC’s and we are the grassroots.

"We are calling the attention of the Governor to this matter as we don’t want this magnanimity of his government to be  politicized.

"It’s our prayer that God will continue to guide our dear Governor and his cabinet members to saddle the affairs of our State to promise land."
