NSCDC DEPLOYS 2,750 PERSONNEL, ASSURES OGUN RESIDENTS OF WATER TIGHT SECURITY BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THE EID-IL FITR CELEBRATION

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, had deployed officers and men numbering 2,750 towards the upcoming Eid-il Fitr celebration and the federal government holidays slated for Monday, 25th and Tuesday, 26th May, 2020.

The personnel are to man critical national assets and infrastructures at all levels of government across Ogun State.

Meanwhile, the State Commandant, Ogun State Command, Alhaji Hammed Abodunrin, in a release signed by the State Public Relations Officer, noted clearly that all COVID-19 regulations are still in force as no tolerance for large gatherings would be encouraged or allowed.

He went further by stating that "the use of nose masks, maintaining physical and social distancing, regular washing of the hands and use of hand sanitisers by everyone is still a civic duty and still in force as part of measures to reduce the further spread of the virus across the country".

Alhaji Abodunrin also implores the public to notify the Corps of any unlawful act around their vicinity for immediate response from the Corps.

To this end, all formations of the Corps in Ogun State had been put on ready alert for any eventuality as the security agencies in the State would not tolerate any act of indiscipline, brigandage and criminality before, during and after the celebration.

While felicitating with the Muslim Communities in Ogun State, the State Commandant also advises everyone to continue to support the policies and regulations of the State Government aimed at reducing the spread of the virus by being law abiding and responsive to extant rules as laid down by the government and that the lessons of good neighbourliness, alms giving, love and other good virtues among others learnt during the Ramadan period should also be reflected every other time.

Abodunrin also wishes to sincerely assure the State Government of the Command's prompt response at any time in order to make the dreams and aspirations of the government a reality.
