Mr Biodun Onalaja, Managing Director of Hyst Global Business Limited (Okun Rice) With Dr Samson Adeola Odedina, Commissioner of Agric, Dr Shorunke, Permanent Sec. Ogun State
In line with the directives of President Mohammadu Buhari on farming during the coronavirus pandemic to all states in Nigeria, Over 50 private sector investments have responded to the call for participation in the Agricultural Industrialization Agenda of Ogun State; to link Ogun State farmers and Anchor Borrowers Programme (ABP) nominees to market.
According to Dr Samson Adeola Odedina, In February 2020, Mr Biodun Onalaja, Managing Director of Hyst Global Business Limited (Okun Rice), wrote the Ogun State Government for support and partnership in setting up a new Rice Mill and for the Aggregation of farmers for sustainable supply of paddy rice.
He said, The Entrepreneur has signed an offtake agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture to buy rice paddy from Ogun farmers who might be in need of market. Mr Biodun Onalaja is an indigene of Ogun State, and he is driving an expansion of his business investment into Ogun State; which is a response to the call for Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the Agricultural Sector in Ogun State.
The Ministry of Agriculture Team was in his facility earlier today, Friday, 1st May, 2020, to follow up on his farm and facilities, as part of Ogun State Government's support to production and processing locations, during this pandemic period.
However, Mr Biodun Onalaja, Managing Director of Hyst Global Business Limited (Okun Rice) while addressing the press said the company has the capacity of producing over 600 tonnes per day which is 2 trailer, with 50k of rice with 24-hours with their industrial machines and manpower.
Dr Samson Adeola Odedina assured Mr Biodun Onalaja that Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture shall be providing technical backstopping for Hyst Global Business Limited (Okun Rice)’s 50 hectares Backup Farm and upcoming Rice Mill.
