27 Traders, 2 Drivers Arrested For Violating Social Distancing Regulation In Ogun


..... Prosecutes 30 people under 1hr

Abeokuta - The joint task force of Nigeria Police Force, Vehicle Inspection Service VIS, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense NSCDC, Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement agency TRACE, Vigilante Group of Nigeria VGN has arrested 27 drivers, 2 drivers for violating social distancing regulation, lockdown order. 

According to Babalola, Head of Operations, VIS "The charges range from  2,000 to 5,000 and any violators who cannot pay the penalties will be made to engage in community service for four hours." he said. 










Also, Ogunyemi F. O, TRACE Akin in the state said the traders was arrested for flouting social distancing regulation stipulated by the state government 

"The traders were intercepted at Iyana mortuary junction for flouting social distancing regulation stipulated by the federal government and Ogun State, we wouldn't have arrested them had it been they were 5 at maximum, but alas the first vehicle was conveying 17 passengers with drivers making 18 while the other Volvo had 10 passengers including driver makes it 11 and Nonie of them was on nose mask." said Ogunyemi.





Violators placed on community service for four hours under supervision of the security team


Some of the violators was placed on community service for the period of four hours after failed efforts to meet up with magistrate court fine after their arrests.
