The Deputy Coordinator of National Association of Nigerian Students South West Zone (NANS Zone D), Comrade Oladimeji Uthman has commended Senator Ibikunle Amosun (SIA), the immediate past Governor of the Gateway State and currently the Senator representing Ogun Central at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly for deeming it fit to provide palliatives and relief materials to the leadership of all Nigerian Students (NANS) in the Gateway State.
The South West Deputy Coordinator of NANS, Comrade Oladimeji Uthman, gave the commendation in Abeokuta the state capital yesterday.
Comrade Oladimeji Uthman said that the provision of the palliatives came at a time when it was highly needed by the Nigerian Students who had been observing the stay home order in the state since the government announced.
He said all Students Union Representatives of all tertiary institutions in Ogun State benefitted from the relief materials from Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Senator Ibikunle Amosun in his kind gesture and care for Nigerian Students leadership made the relief materials available through the Office of the Special Assistant on Students Matters, Comrade Olusegun Clement, to all Students Union in the state.
In complementing the senators good gesture, Comrade Clement also donated the sum of N100,000 to the students leaders
“The palliatives are needed at this time and it is a means to ensure that the lockdown order is being observed fully and obeyed by the Students and also to ease the hardship during this period and Nigerian Students in the state would never forget this gesture of yours.”
“I am very much conversant and aware of the kind gesture and huge donation the immediate past Governor of Ogun State has donated in combatting the hardship of COVID-19 Pandemic and we believe with time and the proper steps being taken by the Federal and South Western State Governments, our land will be free of this deadly virus.
“I also want to use this medium to appreciate all other responsible and progressive individuals for their urgent intervention to lessen the hardship confronting Nigerian Students in South West and Nigeria at large.
In the same vein, I appeal to all South West representatives at the lower and upper chamber of the National Assembly to emulate the kind gesture of Senator Ibikunle Amosun to the Students constituency in their respective federal constituency and senatorial district.
Also, beacon on the State Governors of Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ogun to provide palliatives to the leadership of Nigerian Students in their respective states during this lockdown.
