PRESS RELEASE

11th January 2020

In response to the viral video in circulation, It is very unfortunate that some Nigeria media houses that are supposed to the watchdog in the society, whose duties are to bring clarity, in-depth and objective reports have turned themselves to instruments of manipulation and destruction of morals and character.

It is a  form of slander and character assassination to say the crisis in Lagos island started after my emergence as the Lagos state chairman, The crisis had started long before I became the chairman and since I assumed this post my watchword has been PEACE and UNITY,. I have always preached about peaceful cohabitation, Tolerance and Unity within and outside the Union that I represent.
Investigation from my side showed that this is/was a leadership tussle between the current Lagos Island Branch Chairman C(Alhaji Adekunle Lawal a.k.a Kunle poly), and his rival  (Akeem Agbola aka Okoro and Isiaka Emmanuel aka Babanla/Baba Ibo) and we have asked each parties at different occasion to create a lasting solution to this issue. But as it is.....it all proved abortive. Both parties agree that they know those  responsible for this fracas and in other for this issue to be resolved the law enforcement agencies were involved as they had always been from time.

An impromptu meeting was convened at the state secretariat for each side to come and identify those involved, hence the intervention of the police force in order for peace to reign.

The man in the said video wearing a black  shirt (Alhaji Kunle Lawal aka Kunle Poly) was out pointed out as one of those involved  while the other faction also singled out those responsible from Kunle Poly's Camp, So it is baffling to see the media turning this on its head and accusing me of this.

The motto for my administration is Peace, Unity and Progress and this I will make sure I deliver to the best of my capacity and Knowledge .
