Alex Iwobi left Arsenal on deadline day to join Everton for a fee believed to be in the region of £27.6m. There was plenty of transfer activity at the Emirates Stadium and Iwobi’s transfer to Merseyside was amongst the more high-profile departures of the summer.
Nicolas Pepe joined the Gunners from Lille but up until now, the Ivorian has failed to justify the vast amount of money spent on securing his services.
Given the poor run of form Arsenal find themselves in and the uninspiring performances from the likes of Pepe and others, these supporters appear to be ruing the fact Iwobi was allowed to leave.

Iwobi never mind the haters you carried Arsenal’s attack last season... the team only looked sharp or had any hope when you’re playing bro . You’re better than ozil, ceballos, Nelson, Pepe, saka . Played out of position but our best winger till date .

What do we think?
Iwobi is a competent Premier League player who at times can be brilliant. At a huge club like Arsenal, there is a demand to perform every time you take to the field and perhaps that’s why Iwobi was allowed to move on – consistency was always an issue for the 23-year-old.
The Nigerian international moved to Everton in search of guaranteed first-team football but it hasn’t necessarily worked out as he would have liked so far. Iwobi has featured in 10 of the Toffee’s 12 Premier League games so far but has only been named in the starting eleven 50% of the time.
According to Whoscored.com, Iwobi’s average performance rating this season has been 6.7/10 and he’s completed 652 Premier League minutes. Arsenal fan’s calling for him to return is surely a consequence of their poor form of late because the reality is he’s yet to nail down a permanent place in Marco Silva’s Everton side.
