The body of a nurse attached to Molo Level Four Hospital has been found in her house in Tayari Estate.
Area residents and hospital staff who were at the scene were shocked when the body was found decomposing in the house.
The nurse, Sandra Wangari, a plaster technician at the facility, had gone missing for days and her colleagues went to her house on Wednesday to check on her.
The hospital administrator, Joseph Ouma, said Wangari did not report to work on Monday and they were concerned after they were unable to contact her for days.
Ouma said when her colleagues went to check on her at her house, they found the door locked from the inside and tied to call her out but she did not respond.
“Upon entering the house they found her dead and immediately alerted me. On checking on her body we found she had no physical injuries and no drugs were at the scene. Postmortem results will help establish the cause of her death,” said Ouma.
Area chief Lucy Waiganjo, who confirmed the incident said police investigating the cause of her death adding that the body was taken to Molo Level Four Hospital mortuary.
“We hope to establish the cause of her death once the postmortem is done today (Thursday),” said chief Waiganjo.
