The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Wife of the Kebbi State Governor’s pet programme; the MedicAid Cancer Foundation have put together a number of advocacy programmes to raise awareness and provide intervention against the menace of cancer.
In connection to the 34th October, every year, declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) as an International Cancer day to draw global attention to the prevalence of breast cancer, Federal Government to offer free breast screening at the national hospital, Abuja.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Minister to mark this year's" International Cancer Day through her director of press, Shedu Maikai.
She said there will be a sensitization walk to create more awareness on the need for regular breasts examination.
"Women are advised to take advantage of the screening exercise to know their cancer status".
