No Policelice Officers Should Go On 'Special Assignment' Henceforth - IGP

Police to Train NURTW, Market Women, Student Leaders As Community Police Officers - IGP

In the stir of curbing crimes and criminalities in southwest, the inspector general of police, IGP Adamu Mohammed has said the force is going to partner the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW, Student leaders, market women and men of other association in curbing crime and criminality in Nigeria.

He said the police is ready to train the indigenous community people in identifying and fighting crimes to assist the workloads on the police force during the southwest security summit held in Ogun State.

"No police officers should attend any special assignment without approval from the force henceforth, The indigenous people are the best people to know their communities well enough and can identify their various insecurity challenges." Said IGP Adamu Mohammed.

" The force appreciates the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun for disbursement of One hundred patrol vehicles and motorcycles to further assist our men in combating crimes in Ogun State. IGP added."

IGP, Adamu Mohammed said The southwest security is aimed at deploying special forces to support the efforts of the police officers, in the geopolitical zones in fighting crimes. The geopolitical masters such as governors to support policing efforts the to end insecurity in southwest.

Distribution of patrol vehicles by public office holders and individuals to support the police in fighting crimes, " there is nothing bad when our men fighting criminals get fully kitted from head to toe.

He said no police officer should go to any special assignment without taking permission from the police headquarters henceforth, as the force is ready to enforce the order.

He said the police officers nationwide will now enjoy free health care, housing and uniforms with their name inscription on them.
