Kidnapping, Banditry Can Be Captured, If President Buhari Assent To VGN Bill As Formal Security Agency - Adedoyin


The commandant of Vigilante Group Of Nigeria VGN in Ogun State, Mr Nureni Adedoyin Olanrewaju has said signing of Vigilante Group of Nigeria bill into law by the President Mohammadu Buhari will not only reduce crime rates in Nigeria but tackles kidnapping, banditry and related crimes in Nigeria. 

According to Adedoyin, Nigeria is on number fifth global trend of kidnapping in the world which is very worrisome, people are using kidnapping to settle scores and demanding ransome from the family of the victims. 

Also, he said the news of kidnapping in the south and north is spreading sporadically, with security apparatus at place, Vigilante Group Of Nigeria VGN can curtail the kidnapping and related crimes before it gets out of hand. 

He said the agency is aware of foreigners taking southwest forest as abode to carry out their criminal activities, but it will not allow them to enter Ogun State. 

"As the commandant of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Ogun State,  I will not condone any crimes and criminalities in Ogun State, with the assent to bill before President Mohammadu Buhari to make VGN as formal security agencies, we shall perform more than expected, if it is signed into law, we are very confident of tackling the kidnapping and other related criminal issues in Nigeria. said Adedoyin."

Also, he said assenting to Security Bills by President Mohammadu Buhari will give Vigilante Group of Nigeria VGN legal backup to perform as full force in combating crimes and criminalities. Adedoyin added. 

He said recently, a woman was a-coasted by the men of the vigilante group with the assistance of the Nigerian Police Force at Gbokota, and she confessed of transporting arm and ammunition into Ogun State to start kidnapping business after her arrest .
