The Supreme Court on Friday declared Governor Gboyega Oyetola as the winner of the governorship election held in September last year.
In a lead judgement of five justices dismissed the appeal by the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party.
The dissenting judgement of two justices was also delivered.
Meanwhile, The former house of representative, Ile Ife federal constituency, Honorable Rotimi Makinde has congratulated Governor Gboyega Oyetola after his victory at the supreme court.
Makinde told a large crowd of supporters that it was important to support the judiciary for it remained the foundation of the nation’s democracy.
He said society would disintegrate, if the judiciary is threatened while performing its statutory role.
