You reap what you sow is a proverb that dates back thousands of years. ... The proverb "you reap what you sow" is also expressed as: "As you sow, so shall you reap".
There are no two ways about it, future consequences are inevitably shaped by present actions. Pork is said to be very delicious but I doubt if a good Muslim or an Imam will stand well to be a good marketer for it to attract good patronage. That would be utterly impossible.
Here is my own reaction with reference to the issue of Mr. Festus Adedayo whose recent appointment was abruptly reversed like a flash of light following the nationwide wild condemnation that trailed his questionable appointment by the Senate President, Senator Lawan Ahmed.
In my personal opinion, the issue shouldn't be about his proffesion or envy as he and his corrupt or biased thinking admirers may presume, but more about the sordid stories that sorround his person and image.
He simply became a perfect tool and example, and indeed the much needed scape goat to send signal to those in power to learn how good it is to reward those who worked for their victory first before sentimental generousity..
No one ever doubted his professional competence, nor argued that he is not a good material, but the fact is that he is not just the ideal candidate to make things easier for that exalted position, for the party, the government and for Mr. Senate president himself. We shouldn't under any guise circumvent the moral principle of social justice.
How well can he, Mr Adedayo position himself to market what he seldom detest? He is consistently known for having penchant for running down people of good conscience and blindly too, worst still, condemning without decorum or decency.
It is on record that he has steadily maintained his disdain, contempt and hate for the leadership of the progressive camp and has also turned his professional talent to a weapon to disparage and dress down people mostly in government at different intervals, instead of being an apostle to address issues bothering on national interest, and I guess the time was just truly ripe for him to pay for all those sins and it's not too bad if he is stopped so that he does not reap from where he never sowed. He may not comprehend this but that is the ideal thing, even for himself not to betray the moral burden he has stocked up through his style of journalism.
I will not blame him but rather celebrate him for being so considered in the first instance, I would rather blame the muppet thinking of those who never ran a check on him to arrive at this stoic situation on behalf of those who vehemently and finally reacted and making him a never deserving star at the end of the tunnel....
The time is finally ripe for us to begin to look inwards and settle for that technocrat who will fill the vacuum, putting into account only those who mortgaged their time, risked and sacrificed for us in the course of engendering a politcial journey that is smooth, virile and fruitful. May God bless and prosper Nigeria!
