The Young Progressives Party(YPP) presidential candidate in the last general election, Kingsley Moghalu, has mocked the ex-Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar for claiming he only used N1.2 billion for burial.
Moghalu lamented that some politicians steal public funds using the name of the dead.
Scooper reports that Mohammed Abubakar dismissed the accusation by his successor, Bala Mohammed, that he spent N2.3 billion on burial materials and instead spent N1.2 billion to buy shroud and decking wood used in the grave for Muslim burials in the state between January and May.
Reacting, Moghalu in a tweet described the dead people as expensive.
He wrote: An aide to former Bauchi State Gov Mohammed Abubakar has reportedly said Bauchi didn’t spend N2.3 billion for burial materials in a state cemetery as alleged by activists, [“only”] N1.2 billion. Expensive dead people indeed. Some politicians steal even in the name of the dead!”
