Our Journey to Abuja at the resumption of the 8th Assembly of NASS of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in 2015, was quite interesting right from the party primary to the general elections which gave us overwhelming victory. I was sworn in, along 359 others, as member, House of Representatives, representing, Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda Federal Constituency that fateful year and I made a personal pledge and commitment to raise the bar, change the status quo and redefine true public representation. Many gave us little or no chance for success as there were doubts on our pedigree and competence. We were however undeterred and opted to clear the cloud of doubt through action rather than words as, talk they say, is cheap. Part of our plan was to start strong and finish even stronger and that has reflected in our last minute activities regardless of the outcome of the 2019 re-election results.
As the old adage goes, "we came, we saw and we conquered". We got the privilege of serving our constituents at a period our people had lost hope and confidence in people who hold political office as their representative at different levels of government. We came at a time when the heat was on. where there was no sense of belonging geared towards equitable distribution of wealth and resources to the three Local Governments of Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda that make up our Federal constituency. During our campaigns, we knew we had to give a different insight and understanding to representation as we saw our people in dire need of change; change from deprivation to *justice* , backwardness to *progress* , and self-centeredness to *fairness* and *equity* that were the cardinal points on which our party All progressives Congress (APC) stood.
Of course, we saw and conquered as we had a management team which employed, astute, strategic, tactical and deep rooted native intelligence in managing constituents who live in far flong geographical boundaries divided into three Local governments of 38 wards. We make bold to say that our Federal constituency is one of the very few dynamic, unique, diverse and sensitive in terms of the land mass, population, diversity, awareness, expectations and political consciousness and could not be taken for granted. We were therefore condemned to succeed having this at the back of our minds regardless of the fact that our election into the national assembly was at a time when Nigeria was passing through a phase of economic downturn and change of government which affected the fortunes of the 8th Assembly in so many ways as against the 7th assembly.
At the 8th Assembly, I Hon Mukaila Olayiwola Kazzim, also known as, Micky Kazzim was instrumental to so many bills and motions moved on the floor of the green chamber most of which are people oriented with visible socio economic and positive impact on nation and people, with particular reference to the good people of Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda LGA
During our tenure, yours truly was the Honourable member and Chairman Ad hoc committee on non access to forex by Automobile industry from Central Bank of Nigeria.
Bills and motions moved during our 4year stay include but not limited to the following:
1.Motion for the Connection of Magboro community and environs (Obafemi Owode LGA) to the national grid after more than 10years year of darkness thereby helping to promote economic development within his constituency.
2. Motion to create a joint security task force at Arepo (Obafemi Owode LGA) to suppress the activities of militants and bandits for lasting peace in the region in order to stem the tide of bunkering, oil theft, and resultant spillage that causes rampant explosion and disaster.
3. Bringing the attention of the Federal govt to the deplorable state of Lagos/ Ibadan (Obafemi Owode LGA) expressway and the death row of citizens recorded due to slow pace of work and lack of overhead pedestrian bridge in the contract signed ab initio. The move prompted the expansion of the road to save man hour lost to needless traffic and the construction of a pedestrian bridge to save lives; a Federal project that was undertaken by Ogun State as a mutual partnership in service to the people.
4. Support of motion on cashless economy to reduce Bank note and currency mutilation within the economy.
Aside sponsoring bills, moving motions and formulating policies as a Legislator, our team never took eyes off our goal for oversight responsibilities and social contract with our constituents. To this end, attracting and facilitating projects to our constituency with laudable human capacity building, empowerment, equitable distribution of wealth and resources to Aboekuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda, was a major focus of our stewardship. It is on record that we personally financed and facilitated numerous projects with far reaching human capital and socio-economic development of our constituency and below are some that time and space will permit me to mention.

*VERDICT OF THE PEOPLE AFTER 4YEARS*
No doubt, Hon. Micky
Kazzim a legislator elected to make laws and formulate policies, has gone beyond just being a legislator like any other to become an embodiment of empowerment, sought-after, youth loving and friendly grassroot politician.
Good people of Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda LGA, which makes Micky's Federal constituency, practically adore him. His presence and persona radiates humility, focus, and kindness. No wonder he is hailed and cheered each time he is in the presence of people. As he takes a bow out of the 8th National Assembly today 7th June, 2019 as a member representing Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda Federal Constituency, he has every reason to exit with his head raised high up and shoulder higher as he has raised the bar of quality represention above and beyond in his Federal Constituency and I dare say, in Nigeria.
Weldone Hon. Micky Kazzim says the good people of Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda. *Micky Kazzim............ Tes'ojue*
