Is sex safe during pregnancy?
Source: hindustantimes.com
A lot of people are pretty much ignorant about this topic. Some men are so scared they don't want their wives to get pregnant because they think once she is pregnant, it is game over. While some think that it is the most disgusting thing to do to their wives when she is carrying their child. I have heard a lot of theories and fears and these things just fly around, making both men and women uninterested in the practice of safe sex during pregnancy.
Funny enough, some women don’t even know there are amazing things and normalcy sex during pregnancy can do to their body. Well, this is the time to seat your husband or wife down, enlighten them, and try to start shooting more shots even though she is pregnant.
In the meantime...

While hormonal and emotional fluctuations are behind a pregnant woman’s unpredictable sexual state, experts say that, medically, there’s nothing stopping you from doing the deed. Sex during pregnancy is safe and you can continue to have sex right up until your waters break, doctors say. Provided you’re healthy and feeling well, you can have as much sex as you like without worry, as the baby is protected by the amniotic fluid and a thick mucous plug sealing the cervix. It is researched that no sexual activity will dislodge an embryo. They’re very good at snuggling into the uterine lining and holding on for dear life!
There are, however, a couple of scenarios that do need to be discussed with your doctor before you get busy in the sack, another research warns. Some women have a rare condition called placenta praevia, which means the placenta is lying over the cervix, and the thrusting involved in intercourse may be risky. Also, if your partner has herpes and you don’t, you want to practice safe sex so your unborn child isn’t exposed to it.
Is sex healthy during pregnancy?

Just like having sex when you’re not pregnant, there are many benefits of sex during pregnancy. Oxytocin, often called the love hormone, is released when you orgasm, and that may have a positive effect on you and your baby, says licensed marriage and sex therapist Kat Van Kirk, Ph.D. “The warm sense of security and love experienced during sex may have a pleasant indirect effect of soothing the baby in utero as well,” she adds. Orgasming can also strengthen your pelvic floor and help your body heal postpartum, Van Kirk says.
So, with that knowledge, how best to enjoy sex with a big baby belly? Use your imagination and experiment! Or read the tried-and-tested positions that follow…
Spooning

Spooning isn't just sweet for getting cuddly. It can also be a super-comfortable way to have pregnant sex because there's no pressure on your abdomen and you have lots of movement. Sha, do it with sense. Plus, your partner can position themselves behind you at different angles to allow for penetration. (But you might want to avoid lying on your right side in this position.)
Sideways

This position has you and your partner lying on your sides facing one another. Lying on your back is best avoided, according to research. When a pregnant woman is lying on her back – for sleep or for sex – the baby can suppress her vena cava, the big vein running through the abdomen, which can make her feel quite faint. Instead, it’s a good idea to be tilted to one side, slightly rolled over. Try pulling one leg up to allow room for your partner. This position is a winner because it keeps weight off your abdomen but supports your uterus at the same time. And it’s intimate, too, giving more belly visibility than some other getting-busy positions do. Just be very comfortable doing this, you can’t hurry on this one.
On A Chair

Friends of mine( who are married and we can talk about anything) who've been through multiple pregnancies swear by this one! You sit on the chair and let him kneel in front of you. Ideally, make the chair a little higher than your guy, so he's pushing up instead of right on the tummy. Wow, just make sure you make him eat his favorite swallow to perform this style. Lol.
Go On Top

This position is generally very safe and comfortable. Here, you straddle your partner while he lies on the bed, taking in the glorious view of your pregnant belly. This is a great position during pregnancy as you’re in control of the depth of penetration, the speed (you can go as fast or slow as you like) and the movement. Everything that happens here is in your hands, you be careful though.
Let Him in from Behind

‘Doggy style’ allows for deeper penetration and is often very pleasurable for both parties. It involves you being down on hands and knees while your partner, who can be standing or kneeling behind you, enters from behind. And those decorative pillows on your bed will finally come in handy – use them to support your stomach and chest to stay comfy. You can even have some fruits in a bowl not too far from both of you so anyone can eat or share while you are gaining momentum on each other. Even your unborn child will feel the vibe.
