It is no longer news that people get married for different reasons. However, popular Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has finally revealed why she married Lanre Gentry, her Estranged husband. Mercy Aigbe revealed why she married her estranged husband after replying an angry fan on Instagram.

Mercy Aigbe who had been married for years prior to that became a testament on how marriages can be difficult and sometimes, dangerous.The actress who has since removed ‘Gentry’ (her husband’s name) from her social media accounts, revealed the circumstances that led to the unfortunate event. “I stayed because I loved him and because every time he beats me, he would plead with me and get his family and friends to beg me. He promised regularly to change but he never did. When my husband gets angry, he gets physical, not only to me but to anyone. He has done that with my house help who reported him to the Police years ago. I stayed because of my children and because a lot of people look up to me. I was a role model of some sort and I really wanted to keep it together. I just wanted a home”.

Likewise, it will also be recalled that the actress who was asked what her current relationship status is stated boldly that she’s still married. It is unclear whether she meant that all between herself and estranged husband, Aiswaju Lanre Gentry has been forgiven or if she’s still legally bound to him, pending when they get an official divorce.
