I am not joining APC, that's the final - Daniel

- Gbenga Daniel says he has not decided to join the APC as was being speculated

- Daniel, a former campaign director-general to Atiku Abubakar , says he only explained what his supporters wanted

- The former governor advised that reports should be accurate and free of ambiguities

Gbenga Daniel, a former governor of Ogun state and ex-director general of the Atiku Abubakar campaign council, may have taken a definite stand concerning his alleged political move to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former governor, who announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a letter to the party’s headquarters recently, was believed to have moved to the APC after he revealed that his supporters wanted him to lead them to the ruling party.

As reactions from Nigeria, Daniel said he was not heading to the APC.

He said it was not his decision to lead the supporters to the APC, but that of his followers who met with him recently.

“I have resigned from PDP and from partisan politics. I did that in writing, no ambiguities. A meeting was held today and the meeting was reported with the request of my people. There was no ambiguity.

“I listened carefully to them and I permitted them to join any political party of their choice since I have become non partisan. I did not agree to lead them to APC. Accurate reporting without ambiguities is desired. Thanks,” he said.

Legit.ng earlier reported how Gbenga Daniel hinted that he would move to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Cable reports that Daniel dropped the hint on Sunday, March 17, just about 24 hours after he resigned his membership of the the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and announced that he was quitting partisan politics.

Speaking after a meeting with his supporters at his Sagamu residence, he said his people are happy with his exit from PDP but do not want him to quit politics.
