The police in Akwa Ibom has arrested political thugs who have also been identified as suspected cultists over the burning of INEC buses in Akwa Ibom.
The suspects have now confessed to the crime and named some politicians in the state as their sponsors.
The thugs burnt some vehicles at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC office on the eve of the rescheduled presidential election.
During their confessions, they mentioned two members of the State Executive Council and a member of the House of Assembly, as their sponsors.
Two persons were killed on Friday night and about thirteen vehicles destroyed. This happened after some hoodlums attacked INEC office in Obot-Akara Local Government Council of Akwa Ibom State.
