"REMAIN CALM, RESOLUTE, DESPITE POSTPONEMENT" - HON. MICKY KAZZIM (MHR)

Subsequent to the postponement of the general election, Hon. Mukaila Olayiwola Kazzim,MHR, member House of Representatives, seeking re-election as a candidate of the Allied Peoples' Movement (APM) for  Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda Federal constituency has expresses his disappointment and great displeasure at the unexpected postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections few hours to the commencement of the exercise scheduled to hold today, 16th February, 2019, by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.

According to him, To say that the postponement is unfortunate will be putting it mildly; It has come at a monumental cost to us in terms of logistics, time and human resources. This shift in date has inflicted untold hardship on the finance, trade, commerce, health, and social well being of many Nigerians and particularly my constituents who left all to prepare for voting during the elections. This will no doubt set us back in our drive and effort towards mobilising our teaming supporters having put in a great deal of effort at sensitising and encouraging voters, to turn out in large number, to perform their civic duty.

His words:

"May I use this medium to please appeal to you my people in Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda local government areas to please let us put this disappointment behind us and rekindle the spirit and tempo with which we rallied and campaigned vigorously since the flag off. On my honour, I pledge to make all your effort and sacrifices towards returning me to the federal house of Representatives worth the while when our victory is announced eventually Insha Allah. I therefore implore you to consider your action as your little contribution towards supporting the continuity of empowerment, social welfare, progress and legislative success of our federal constituency with me in charge."

According to INEC, elections will now hold on Saturday, 23rd February, 2019, for Presidential and National Assembly elections while  Governorship, State House of Assembly and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Area Council elections is to hold on 9th March, 2019.

He said, he trust the postponement which INEC claim is due to a careful review of the implementation of its logistics and operational plan is victory delayed as I have no doubt in my mind that you will all troop out en masse next week 23rd February, to cast your votes for me.
