The Special Assistant to Gov. Ibikunle Amosun on Students Matters, Olusegun Clement on Thursday, emerged President Muhammadu Buhari's Youths campaign coordinator in Ogun state.
After his emergence at the early hours of Wednesday, the governor later held a students leaders meeting later in the evening of the same day.
At the meeting, Clement thanked Amosun for suggesting his name to the President for the new post, adding that the teachings of the governor took him this far.
Clement further appreciated the governor for his guidance and fatherly role to the students constituency in the state, saying that the opportunity given to him to serve was a rare one.
His words, " I must thank God and my Principal Senator Ibikunle Amosun for giving me this opportunity to serve in the capacity of a Special Assistance at a time when Ogun state is recording a remarkable achievement.
" This government has given Ogun a face lift and I am happy to be a part of this laudable history.
" For the new achievement, What else can I say other than thank my boss for suggesting my name to the President. I will forever be grateful to you Sir.
" If I should start counting achievements and kindness of this government amongst the students constituency , I will not finish from here tonight. All I will say is that for our sake, may God preserve the life of our governor so as to continue to be our father who we can always run to.
"If you look round, you will discover that we need nothing other than the continuous leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari beyond 2019 in Nigeria .
"You will agree with me that one thing militating against our dream Nigeria is corruption and you can see how much fight this administration has given to corruption.
"At this point we can not allow a party that brought the country to a zero level in their 16 years to come and continue in their usual pull it down mentality ," he said
Clement noted that it was important to allow the massive development in the country to continue, saying that the Buhari's government must continue.
In his response, The governor thanked the students leaders for being worthy young persons who had been making Ogun state proud, adding that Ogun belongs to every one and must not be given to those who had nothing to offer.
He also pleaded with the students leaders to be law abiding and refuse any attempt that was targeted at luring them to any violence especially political thuggery.
He said, "Firstly, I must thank all of you for your supports and the fact that you have comported yourselves in a manner that portrays us in Ogun state.
"You must ensure that you do not get involved in anything that has to do with violence most especially political thuggery because Ogun state has gone beyond all of those horrible times and we must sustain the dignity that we are known for.
