Recently, Legit.ng gave a peek into the current situation of Olajumoke Orisaguna, a bread seller who was elevated in status after she was spotted by photographer TY Bello. It was alleged that the beautiful lady is presently neck-deep in financial and relationship crises.
Her hubby, Sunday, made statements about the model in this regard. He said ever since she left her former manager Azuka Ogujiuba, she has been in a strait financially. The man also alleged that her ways with the new manager was shady.
Upon hearing these statements made against her by her lover, Olajumoke took to replying. Not only did she say that there was no truth in it, she also claimed that she had been the one feeding the man for two years.
This statement which Olajumoke said in her defence has elicited a lot of responses from Nigerians. Several men took to lambasting her for making such loud claims about being the breadwinner of the family.
According to them, if a man had been feeding his wife and taking care of her for two years, no noise would be made. But the moment a lady takes up this responsibility, the world is bound to know. However, some people had different opinions which counteracted this thought.

Lmao the difference is when the roles are reversed the woman is expected to be grateful and the man isn’t expected to report to her, but when it’s as in this case, she’s expected to cover his ass and act like he’s pulling his weight, and he still expects her to report to him.

But when you feed her, she’s expected to be quiet and submissive. But her husband is out her complaining that she doesn’t respect him. The roles should be switched all the way.

Well..It's true that alot of women flip when they have the upper hand in earnings. In jumokes case she had been the one earning for herself and children ever before she was discovered and her life transformed. She left osun to Lagos to sell bread to take care of herself and kids

The pre-existing societal norm in the African context is that the man and the man alone should provide for his family. Until that norm or expectation is deconstructed, we will continue to have women like this who, through no fault of their own, rave about being the breadwinners.

This is just based on the assumption that he does nothing. We don't know the inside story, no need to jump to conclusions. The same way we put the man's allegations in question, it's possible this is too.
