Breaking: INEC Declared Ogun East Senatorial Election Inconclusive Over Cancelled Votes

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the Ogun East senatorial district election results inconclusive as a result of cancelled results.

The returning officer of the senatorial district, Prof Chris Onwuka cancelled some results in Ajebandele ward in the axis.
While cancelling the result, Prof. Onwuka claimed that the result was cancelled because total votes cast were more than the number of registered voters in the ward.

At the conclusion of collation of results from the nine local government areas of the senatorial district, the APC had a total of 84,929 votes, while the PDP polled 82,457 votes.

The returning officer for the senatorial district was about declaring Senator Mustapha of the APC as the winner of the election before trouble started in the hall.

It was observed that results were cancelled in Ward 10, Ajebandele, in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of the state because the total number of vote cast is more than the number of registered voters in the ward.
