The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has harkened to the plea of the President of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Otunba Bolaji Amusan, by directing that Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, to immediately be taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, idi Arabia for first class medical attention and treatment.
This followed the outcry by Omidina for medical attention, which he said he could not afford.
According to available information, Adewole placed a call to the Chief Medical Director of LUTH, Dr. Chris Bode, to give the best attention to the thespian.
The Minister also lauded members of TAMPAN for taking quick strides using their resources to garner support for the ace actor.
He further promised the association his full support as it embarks on health insurance policy for the members.
Amusan, who was really appreciative of the Minister’s quick response, thanked the Federal Government for giving the association a listening ear.
He also praised ace actor, Muyiwa Adegoke, aka Londoner, for his efforts too, adding that the kind gesture of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, those of others actors and all well meaning Nigerians home and abroad were appreciated too.
Amusan urged those who always throw curses and abusive words at other actors for not responding quickly to their colleagues in need to always exercise patience and restraints no matter how hurt they feel about the predicament of their loved celebrity.
