Massive Tears In Abeokuta As Car Loses Control Crushes 4 Students To Death

It was an atmosphere of tears and wailing in Abeokuta the capital of Ogun State after a Toyota Avensis car tyre burst and killed four students of the  students of the Government Technical College with one unidentified person

The Spokesperson of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) in Ogun State, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday.

Akinbiyi said that the car lost control due to tyre burst, sumersaulted and hit the students where they were seated in front of a house.
“The vehicle lost control due to tyre burst and speeding , sumarsaulted and went to meet people sitting down outside a house instantly killing five of them and injuring two others.
” The accident occurred around 10:40pm. Four female college students and a little girl died on the spot.
“We Learnt they were students of Government Technical College, Abeokuta.They came for a Muslim programme called Tarjuud which was to start by 12am but were still outside around 10:30 pm, waiting for 12am to enter a mosque where the programme will take place before the incident happened.
“Alcoholic drinks were found in the car and unfortunately the driver of the car could not be located, ” he said.
Akinbiyi added that corpses of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Abeokuta while the injured were taken to same hospital.

Meanwhile it will be recalled that in December 2018 a 85-year-old man, three clerics and one other person have been arrested by the Zone 2 command, Onikan, Lagos with fresh human hearts and flesh, in Abeokuta, Ogun state. Parading the suspects before newsmen alongside other suspects, yesterday, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, zone 2, comprising Lagos and Ogun States commands, AIG Lawal Shehu, said investigation on where and how the suspects came about the human parts was ongoingHe explained that:

“ On December 10 , at about 9.45pm , information was received by the command that one Ajibola Mustapha and his cohorts, who specialised in exhuming dead bodies and removing their parts were noticed around Isabo area of Abeokuta “Detectives of the Zonal Intervention Squad (ZIS) were detailed to investigate . “Four suspects— Samuel Hunsu, Saheed Ashiru, Lateef Taoheed and Waheed Oyerinde , all of Isabo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, were arrested while a bunch of human flesh was recovered”. The AIG disclosed that one week later, “information was received by the command that one Samuel Hunsu and his cohorts were in possession of human parts. The ZIS swung into action and the said 85-year-old Hunsu, was arrested around Oko Ireke village in Ifo area of Ogun State and a fresh human heart was recovered from him.
