The former house of representatives member Hon. Rotimi Makinde who spoke extensively on a radio programme ORISUN FM Ile Ife yesterday stated clearly on the reasons why we must all ensure that the forthcoming election is violence free and urges all political parties to play the game by the rules.
While addressing the issues regarding the coalition government in Osun, the Ex--lawmaker praises the Lord Almighty for making it possible for APC to have emerged victorious at the last guber race. He described the coming of Senator Iyiola Omisore into the progressive folds as God's doing and at the right time in the interest of Ife Land and Osun atlarge. He applauded this kinsman (Sen. Omisore) as the most senior ranking political Juggernaut in Ife Land and also as a very notable and respected person in Nigerian politics of today. He therefore urges all Ife sons and daughters to rally round him in the genuine interest of bringing a resounding development to the cradle of Yoruba race - Ile Ife.
In Hon. Makinde's reaction to the insinuation/innuendoes from some quarters questioning his relationship with one of the candidates of APC particularly the House of Representatives in person of Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin Bamisayemi, the former legislator succinctly declared that Bamisayemi is his brother and will remain as one but in politics, giving a sense of belonging via reconciliation is essential and that is what Bamisayemi failed to do and this gave room for the detractors to thrive in an attempt to simply satisfy their selfish, parochial and egocentric interest all in the name of playing politics of calumny. Hon. Makinde further declared that:
*"I am a loyal party man and I belong to the progressive party called APC and I have no reason to work against my political party, I am no doubt a political leader in my community having represented them at the National level and my records are there. More importantly, I have invested so much in the party and it's like a house built with my sweat which I will never pray for it to collapse. I served selflessly as the chairman campaign committee in my constituency (Ife Federal Constituency) to ensure the victory of the present governor, thus it is my prayers that all our candidates comes out victorious in the coming elections".*
He therefore lauds the osun people to stay away from the perpetrator of evil who see no good things about his person but chose to disparage him, forgetting that it is only God that can determine the future of all mortals.
