The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students, Oyo State axis today held a wide protest against the looming crisis within the educational sector in the state. The peaceful demonstration was done in the presence of the lukewarm attitude of the state government to attend to salient issues. It was gathered that many of the state owned institutions in Oyo State at moment witnessed and till time of report a state of difficulty as derived from the absent-mindedness of the concerned bodies, thus, the state governor and other parastatals officers including the office of the Commissioner for education.
The demonstration started at around few minutes past nine in the morning of Thursday, with the students carrying different transcribed placards. Students gathered at Mokola Ibadan and at arrival of the affected institutions kicked off the demonstration.
Students acrossed the state expressed their grievances further, pointing to the retrogressive sides of the abandoned institutions welfarism by the federal government.
The State Chairman of the National Association Of Nigeria Students in his words addressed in a press statement demanding from the federal government the necessity to provide with great commitment infrastructure as well as finance to the state of education in Oyo State.
