Ogun PDP Condemns Barbaric Police Attack On Gov Ayodele Fayose Of Ekiti

The Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has come to present in strong term the inhuman, criminal brutality and repression of the Nigerian Police Force against the executive governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose and thousands of PDP supporters during a rally at the government house in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday July 11, 2018.

This is the first time in the history of our hard earned democracy that a band of lawless policemen, acting under instructions from partisan superiors will invade a government house like armed bandits and begin to tear gas civilians and democratically enthroned government of a state in t Gestapo manner akin to a military takeover of government.

As law abiding citizens, we have come to lend our voices to condemn the police attack on Governor Ayodele Fayose in order to preserve our democracy which is currently being threatened by the police.

The Ogun State PDP under the leadership of Hon Sikirulai Ogundele hereby enjoins all the security agencies to desist from the violations of human rights to life and physical security in order to sustain this democracy and civil rule.

It is our believe that police meant to protect the lives and properties of every citizens of Nigeria and should not in tomorrow’s election in Ekiti so that the peace loving people of Ekiti can choose the governor they want through a free and fair election.

Ogun PDP further advice the security agents to be circumspect  and not make themselves to be used as tools of intimidation and harassments by the All Progressive Congress led (APC) federal government in Ekiti or anywhere in the country.

The membership of Ogun State PDP is filled with democratic spirits and souls, and will continue to act peacefully in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We therefore use this opportunity to call on the federal government to institute a judicial panel of inquiry to probe the barbaric invasion of Ekiti government house and attack on governor Fayose by the by men of the Nigerian Police Force.
