The ancient city of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital would be lighted up on Thursday, 26th of July, 2018 as Oyo state governor, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, his predecessor, Senator Rasidi Ladoja and gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. Seyi Makinde will all storm Mapo Hall for the formal presentation of historical Yoruba book, YORUBA NI TOOTO (The Real Yorubas) in honor of Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji (Aje Ogungunniso 1).
According to information, the historical book which comprises the histories of Ile-Ife, Oyo and Ilorin dwells extensively on the foundation of Ibadan land, the military prowess of the ancient city and other important details as never discussed.
We learnt that the book authored by the editor of popular Yoruba magazine, Alariya Oodua, Mr Kunle Babarinde, was edited by the Association Of Yoruba Language Lecturers In Colleges Of Education In Nigeria and certified by many Yoruba Scholars.
Dignitaries expected at the event are Governor Abiola Ajimobi who will be the Chief Host; Former Governor of Oyo state, Senator Rasidi Ladoja who is the Chairman of the day; Oyo state gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. Seyi Makinde as the Chief launcher.
Speacial Guest of Honour, Honorable Minister for Information, Culture & Tourism, Alhaji Lai Muhammed; Presidential spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina will review the book; Former Minister for Youth & Sport, Professor Taoheed Adedoja and former deputy Governor of Oyo state, Chief Gbolarumi Azeem will also grace the occasion.
Veteran journalist and writer, Chief Lekan Alabi alongside Prof. Duro Adeleke of University Of Ibadan are the Chief Lecturer.
