The prestigious umbrella body of all students in Nigeria,National Association of Nigeria Students NANS decides their next executives after so many unification meetings between the factional presidents, Chinonzo Obasi and Haruna Kadiri by the concerned stakeholders of the association to conduct a unity convention to put an end to faction and disunity among the students.
The 2018 convention was scheduled at Old Parade Ground, Abuja. Where all student union presidents converged with their teeming spirits to decide the next leadership of the association.
Meanwhile, the election of convention chairman was done before the convention proper with the below nominations

Sheriff Zadok and Yemi Adeniran Likedat stepped down for MD Muktar.
M. D Muktar : 82 Votes!
Nwankwo Isaiah : 30 Votes!!
Agbabiaka Ahmed : 76 Votes!!!
Adeyeye Olugbenga Pilot : 77 Votes!!!
Last Aspirant: 10 Votes!!!!
Abdulmajeed O Oyeniyi (Outgoing A.S.G of NANS) declared MD Muktar as the Winner with 82 Votes.
The total number of Delegates recorded were to be 272, while the total number of votes was 275, having an additional 3. Noticeable number of Senators are protested this activities but the process continues as MD. Muktar presides.
As the election modalities was set to place, the senators started voting for their desired candidates leaving Comrade Bamidele Danielson from Nassarawa State University to emerge as the newly elected NANS President polling 104 votes ahead of other presidential candidates.
The candidates who losses out in the presidential election embraced Danielson Bamidele with spirit of sportsmanship as the newly elected president addressed the student union presidents together in his speech.
