Ogun APC holds Peaceful State Congress, Derin Adebiyi Emerges As Chairman


The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun held a peaceful State congress across the 20 council areas of the state on Saturday.
Amebo Feeds Naija Blogs correspondents, who monitored the exercise which comes up at June 12 Cultural Center, reports that the process was orderly, peaceful and transparent.

The state congress which was held by former deputy  governor of Edo State, H.E Peter Obadan as chairman of the state congress sent from the national secretariat of All Progressives Party of Nigeria APC.
Speaking on the exercise, some chieftains of the party expressed joy that the exercise was devoid of rancour and acrimony.
The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, Senator  Lanre Tejuosho, Isiaq Akinlade MHR., Ibrahim Isiaka MHR. EWEKORO/IFO,Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Prince Suraj Adekunbi, Chief Gbenga Kaka others made the process transparent with their attendance.

They described the process and the entire exercise as orderly and peaceful, adding that the process helped to eliminate bitterness and post-election crisis.

According to Governor Ibikunle Amosun , today’s congress by all standards has been a very successful exercise because Ogun state is laying a template for others to follow during today's ward congress.

“So everybody went home satisfied and there is celebration everywhere in Abeokuta  LGA as Chief Derin Adebiyi emerged as winner with hight margin .”

Meanwhile, Senator Olamilekan Solomon popularly known as YAYI, Former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba caucus absent at the just concluded local government congress which produces new elected members to run the affairs of the party at the state level.

Speaking in a similar vein, a chieftain of the party in Honorable Isiaka Ibrahim, expressed delight that the exercise went on peacefully and successfully.

Speaking with newsmen on the outcome of the exercise, Senator Ibikunle Amosun FCA said he was excited over the peaceful congress.

At the time of filing the report, members of the Local Government Congress Committee, headed by Chief Peter Obadan express gratitite to the delegates for not allowing them be bought.
