CONYO VISIT LAGOS WATER CORPORATION, HONORS ENGINEER. MUMINU ADEKUNLE BADMUS.


The youths under the auspices of the Congress of Nigerian Youth, CONYO has honored the Managing Director, Lagos Water Corporation, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus with an Award of Service To The Nation in recognition of his tremendous and meaningful contributions in meeting portable water demand in Lagos State through International best practice with safe drinking water in sufficient and regular quantity.

The Southwest Coordinator of CONYO, Amb. Ololade O. Paul presented the plaque of the award to Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus at his office in Lagos on thursday 17th of May, 2018.
In his brief remarks, Amb.Ololade said the group carefully selected the recipient and that the honour was based on merit. He urged the award recipient to see the honour as an opportunity and challenge to spur him to do more.

While responding, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus expressed gratitude to CONYO for considering him worthy of the honour and he pray to God to give him more wisdom and strength to do more to justify this award." I thank CONYO for honouring me with this award and I’m grateful, and promised to continue to serve humanity with total commitment and dedication".

Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus“I thank the youths for this honour bestowed on me. I know it is not only in recognition of what I have done but it’s a call to do more in service to our nation . So I offer myself as a moving train to do everything I can to ensure that the welfare of our youths is taken care of. On my own part I will continue to be supportive to the youths. I will continue to do my very best to ensure that we create that enabling environment for our youths to thrive. Once again thank you very much for this award.”

He said, the state government has been helpful in providing funds since the inception of this administration and we are also partnering with investors for the advancement, betterment and transformation of this organization, and our challenges so far are illegal connections, water sellers and non revenue water, these is as a result of people that are not willing to pay for water, believing that water is a social responsibility of the State government and should be provided free of charge. He further said,  Lagos State Water Corporation has introduced  prepaid meter and other mechanism meters has been installed in lagos houshold for transparency and accountability of the service rendered to the consumer. He appealed to Lagosians to desist from illegal connections, adding that this might lead to a blast which may cause gross water contamination.

He also  enjoined the youths to key into certain positive initiatives. The youth are leaders of today and not tomorrow's leader anymore, and therefore should get involved in paddling the affairs of this country, the future is now. He pleaded with the leaders of the youth organization to do more in sensitizing, admonishing and encouraging other youths to shun and desist from crime, violence and other ill vices capable of causing harm and unrest in the society.
