Mr. Pessimist, yes you are right, that our living standards in Nigeria is low at the moment, that we are not where we ought to be, that things are rough, but who is not aware of where we are just coming from? Who doesn't know that we used to be among the largest importers of Rice in the world? Who doesn't know that we used to be a Mono Economy, which depends on Crude Oil for its survival and the price got crashed? Who doesn't know that we are no longer ranked among the most corrupt countries in the world as we used to top the chart in the past? Who doesn't know that at the moment Nigeria is ranked among the top 10 Reforming Economies in The world, by the World Bank?
You see, it is true that you can't eat your cake and have it, Reforms take time to manifest into concrete results and whether you like it or not Nigeria is making significant progress in the areas of the War Against Terror, Mining, Agriculture, Power, Roads, Rails, Infrastructure Development in general, Don't forget the war against corruption and the rest of them.
I wonder, when people fail to see what I'm seeing! Change is a gradual process and I'm not aware of any great country on earth today, that developed without passing through the pain of Reforming itself. Please go back to your history books: the saying that Rome was not built in a day is applicable to our situation, even China wasn't built in a decade.
