*4 gang attacked Ijaye village, killed a man, hunt for another*

A man identified as Mr Ganiu Olufemi was shot dead on Monday, June 26, in a fresh attack by not less than 4 men expected to be hired assassins at Ijaye village in the Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. The attack came some months after two similar incidents in neighbouring States, where their main target, Mr Oladipupo Omidiya were said to be lucky escaping the attacks. 


Confirming the attack on anonymity, a closed neighbour who is close to both the deceased and his friend Mr Oladipupo Omidiya, told our correspondent that the attack was around 1:00 AM. He said that previous attacks had been aimed at Mr Oladipupo Omidiya based on his former relationship with some political godfathers in the country which later turned otherwise and since been running about for his safety.


Another closed source said that the hunt for him, Mr Oladipupo Omidiya made him to quit his lecturing job at gateway ICT polytechnic Shaapade in Ogun State. As accounted to them by Mr Oladipupo Omidiya, his life was in danger and out of security protection unless he could find his way out of the country. Our correspondent was also told of another escaped attack on Mr Oladipupo Omidiya at 26 Omiyale Close, Agege area of Lagos State where his little son was injured in the process.


The spokesman for the Police Command in Oyo State, Mr. Othman Abubakar, who also confirmed the attack, said investigation is on to bring the culprits to book, but Mr Oladipupo Omidiya is yet to be found to come and give his own account of the story. He then urged the public To Help the Nigerian police in helping to turn Mr Oladipupo Omidiya in. 


Meanwhile the remains of Mr Gani Olufemi is at the state mortuary for further investigations.
