Panic has gripped policemen in Lagos State command, following ongoing massive transfer of most of the officers to the Northern part of the country.The affected policemen certainly must need urgent intervention of the Inspector General of Police to wade in this ongoing tribal interest before it gets out of hands.
Investigation by Amebo Online News has it that about 10 officers of Osun State indigenes had been so affected and transferred to Sokoto, Borno, Nassarawa, Bauchi, Plateau, Yobe and Adamawa states, among others.
Our findings revealed that the said the transfer was being done in batches.
And that about 10 senior officers were in the first batch, while they were not sure of what the numbers will be in the second batch, which list was released penultimate week.
Our findings also revealed that the exercise was more of punitive, as many senior police officers of Yoruba, Osun indigenes who served with the immediate past Commissioner of Lagos, Fatai Owoseni extraction were mostly affected.
While conceding that the issue of transfer was the responsibility of the Police Service Commission, PSC, but such prerogative to common sense should be done without bias,sentiment or punitive as against the recent act done by the Commissioner of Police in Lagos
