In order to address the deficit in technical and vocational skills in Ogun State, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, has approved the conversion of one of the newly constructed model colleges into to science and technical college.
The college, named after the late Prof. Adeoye Lambo, is located at Onijanganjangan in the Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state.
The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, disclosed this while briefing members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Science and Technology in Abeokuta, who visited the ministry as part of its oversight function.
She explained that four additional model colleges would be opened for academic activities by January, 2018.
Mujota, who lauded the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration for its modest achievements in the sector, pointed out that present economic realities in the country had been a major challenge for the ministry in meeting its target for the outgoing year.
