Shall we continue to keep silent while there is injustice? Shall we turn a blind eye to the continuous and gruesome murder of our compatriots in diaspora ?
The leadership of NAPS, with all dignity to human life, frowns at and condemns the unjust killing of Ibrahim Badmus by unidentified men of the South Africa police. In a statement jointly signed by Comrade Simileoluwa Liyele*
*Director of Publicity II, Comrade Ijaduoye Olasunkanmi Adetoye NAPS National Public Relations Officer and Comrade Emmen Mohammed National President narrated the killing which occurred on Tuesday 10th, October, 2017, happened barely a week after the killing of another Nigerian - Jelili Omoyele,35 years, who was allegedly shot dead at Johannesburg over a 300 Rand (7,500 Naira) parking debt.
According to reports, Ibrahim Badmus was tortured and suffocated to death by the police officers at his residence in Vaal
during a raid.
We mourn the loss of these young men and send our deepest condolences to their families. We hope they rest in peace and justice is served to perpetrators of this dastardly acts.
Most importantly, we implore the Minister of foreign affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama and the Nigerian Consul-General Godwin Adama to ensure justice as an imperative to stop the killings of Nigerians in South Africa.
The leadership of NAPS remains resolved to uphold the fundamental of individuals, irrespective of their nationality or race.
