Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with the leaders of his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and that of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The meeting is taking place at the State House in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
National Chairman of the PDP, Ahmed Makarfi led his party’s delegation to the meeting.
The official Twitter handle of the Presidency confirmed the development on Friday morning, August 25.
The handle Twitter handle tweeted: “President @MBuhari meeting with PDP and APC Leaders at the State House this morning. PDP Chairman Sen Ahmed Makarfi arriving for the Meeting”.
Though the reason for the meeting is yet to be known, it maybe unconnected with the President’s Monday broadcast where he said “Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable”.
