It has now been revealed that membership of the dreaded Badoo ritual cult gang » that has been ravaging Ikorodu and its environs in the past two years is not restricted to men alone following the arrest of a suspected female member of the gang.
According to a resident of Imota town, a suburb of the area, the suspect was arrested on Monday, July 17, 2017, with a grinding stone, handkerchiefs, rope and charms, items that have become the symbol of the gang.
The woman said to be in her 30s, was allegedly nabbed with the items by residents of the area and as it has become the norm in recent times, the angry mob descended on her » and beat her to a pulp and while many insisted on lynching her, some elders in community were said to have begged on her behalf.
Someone allegedly put a call to the police who swiftly dispatched a team to the area to rescue her and thereby, incurring the wrath of the crowd who pelted the police vehicle with stones as they took the woman away in their vehicle while shooting into the air to disperse the crowd that was baying for her blood.
It has been reported that the cult gang uses the grinding stones to crush the heads of their victims before wiping the blood and brain membrane with handkerchiefs which they sell to ritualists for a whopping N500,000 per piece.
The gang has caused so much havoc in the Ikorodu area and often attack isolated houses where they wipe out entire families and the various incident has led to mobs meting out jungle justice on any suspect caught though many say innocent suspects have been lynched by crowds who would not want them handed over to the police.
