Robbers who terrorise motorists in Orile, Mile 2 traffic gridlocks arrested

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos State have arrested three members of two different gangs of armed robbers who attacked motorists and commuters during traffic gridlocks in the state.

The suspects were arrested around Orile Iganmu and Mile 2 areas of the state by policemen from RRS, who responded to distress calls by victims of robbery attacks in traffic.

The RRS commander, Olatunji Disu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, confirmed the arrest of the three suspected armed robbers to Tribune Online and added that the onslaught on armed robbers was in consonance  with the commitment of the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to rid the state of criminals.

Two of the robbery suspects were arrested around 11.00 p.m. on July 31 the National Art Theatre in Iganmu area of the state

In the same vein, the mobile team of the Rapid Response Squad in the state has also recorded another achievement through the arrest of a member of notorious syndicate whose gang allegedly terrorised the Mile 2 area of the metropolis.
The suspect, who was sighted attacking his victim, after breaking one of the glasses of the man's vehicle while in traffic, was arrested on July 28th.

The suspect,  Ugochukwu Otuneme, 33, is reportedly a member of robbery syndicate which specialised in snatching vehicles  and robbing residents of their belongings during the peak period around the Mile 2 area in the state.

Otuneme confessed to the crime and added that he always carried out robbery with a member of his gang, who is now at large.
