The Nigerian army has dismissed the recent audio recording purportedly of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau.
Last week, Chad's President Idriss Deby said Mr Shekau has been ousted as Boko Haram leader.
Shekau in the audio had described as lies reports that he had been ousted as head of militant Islamist group Boko Haram, saying he's still alive and in control.
Army spokesman Sani Kukasheka Usman said it did not matter, at this stage, whether Mr Shekau was dead or alive.
He said the military was focused on wiping out Boko Haram within three months to meet the deadline set by Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari.
